A word from Pastor Chase

Hey, I’m Chase.

I’m married to the best person I know, Mindy. We have two daughters (Shay and Arya), three dogs (Caiden, Kai and Callie) and a cat named River (and River is in charge and everyone knows it.) I enjoy playing basketball and ultimate frisbee. I like going on hikes and camping. I listen to a lot of audiobooks, and my preferred place to do so is lying in my hammock on a pretty day. One of my favorite things to do is to turn on loud music, sing even louder, and have a family dance party in the living room.

My family and I moved to Burlington in August of 2021 from a small rural community in the western part of the state, where I was pastor of a loving church we called home for 8 years. It was just 15 minutes from Gardner-Webb University, the school I went to seminary. This is just a little about me, but I would love the opportunity to share more and to get to know you. Even better, I would love for you to meet the people of this congregation.

Hear me now, they aren’t perfect, but they are so wonderful. I have learned so much from this congregation about what it means to be a pastor, a husband, a father, a friend, and a child of God.

They have loved on me and family from the very first day we met.

They have been generous.

They have shown up at my door with food when I was sick.

They have given me a safe space to learn and grow.

They are always there to celebrate in the successes, but they also give the freedom to fail without fear of judgement.

They have encouraged me, supported me,  and so much more.

But what I appreciate the most, is the way they show my children the love of God!

All of these things have been an amazing blessing. That kind of environment has been a place for me and my family to thrive!

FBC Burlington genuinely loves God and loves the people in our community. We are trying to find new and exciting ways to let people know they are loved by an amazing God who desires good for their lives. They have helped me live into God’s abundant life. I want to invite you to come and meet them, come be a part of this community, and  come discover along side us how we can experience God’s abundant life and how we can help others experience it also.
