Music
The music ministry has the unique role of leading our congregation into the presence of God through worship. First Baptist has an excellent team of trained music leaders to guide our music program. The music ministry provides music education and training to children, youth, and adults through a variety of choirs and ensembles including: Adult Handbells, Instrumental Ensemble, and Sanctuary Choir. Our music ministry also has a strong presence within the NC Baptist Singers, and it often works cooperatively with other churches in our community.
Adult Handbells
Our Adult Handbell Choir has been a key element of our music ministry for nearly 50 years. This group leads in worship, presents seasonal concerts, and works cooperatively with our other music programs to engage our church and our community in worship. Some of our ringers are seasoned veterans while others have discovered a more recent love for handbells.
Christian Concert Series
Our Christian Concert ministry hosts well-known Christian artists. These events are free to the public and offer a way for us to connect and minister to our community. Over the years we have hosted a wide variety of groups and artists including college choirs, handbells groups, Daniel Kirkly, Lou Lou Roman, The Harvesters, The Kings Brass and John Stitt. Instrumental Ensemble
Our Instrumental Ensemble is a blended group of church and community members who come together to share their love for music and for God. They often lead in worship, accompany our choirs for musicals, and present seasonal concerts. They are always a welcome addition to any service!
Sanctuary Choir
Our Sanctuary Choir participates in worship each Sunday. Choir members come together each week to engage in fellowship, prayer support, and ministry. They use their voices to sing and to give praise the Lord. Our choir members enjoy having the opportunity to sing a variety of traditional hymns, occasional classical music, gospel, contemporary, and some of the newest worship songs.
