FBC Deacon Duties & Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities of Deacons include the following:

  •  Deacons shall consider themselves servants of the Church, in keeping with the word and practice of the
    New Testament, and view their ministry as spiritual.

  • They shall serve as a council to advise and confer with the Pastor in matters pertaining to the welfare and work of the Church. They shall also review recommendations to the Church brought to them for concurrence from the Pastor, church organizations, committees, or members.

  • Deacons will be surveyed to determine where they are most and least likely to serve effectively. Based on that information Deacons will be assigned to one of three ministry teams. These teams are Hospitality (Greeters), Worship, and Care. The staff will advise and assist these teams.

  • Deacons meet once a month on the third Sunday evening of the month.
